Winifred W. Johnson, age 83, passed away on June 4, 2024 in Bogalusa, Louisiana.

She was a retired telephone operator.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Joseph "Papa Joe" Johnson, her daughters Cecilia (Ed) Blackwell and Sharon (James) Creel, her stepchildren Cheryl (Alan) Puckett and Tim (Michelle) Johnson, daughter-in-law Sedean Crain, siblings Carol Baughman, Jesse Williams, Sylvia Johnson, Gloria (Phillip) Lupo, and sister-in-law Phillippa (George) Tullos. Winifred also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. She shared a special bond with her friend and "wife-in-law" Sylvia Toney. Winifred was cared for by Angela Ingram and Angela "Angie" Fornea.

Winifred was preceded in death by her son Gregory Crain, her ex-husband and father of her children Lavell Crain, parents James and Dorothy Williams, brother-in-law Allen Johnson, sister-in-law Sarah Williams, and extended family.

Funeral services will be held at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home (216 Alabama Avenue, Bogalusa, Louisiana, 70427) on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Ponemah Cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 6:00 until 10:00 pm, Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the funeral home and will resume on Friday from 10:00 am until services.
