William Keith Byrd

William Keith Byrd was born in Bogalusa Louisiana on Christmas Day 1958 to William "Sonny" Byrd and Bobbie Boyd Byrd. They moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 1969 shortly after Hurricane Camille. He was employed at his father's business, Balius Floor Coverings in Biloxi, MS as a commercial estimator and flooring installer for most of his adult life until its closure in 2015. He was known for his dynamic work ethic and his perfectionist attitude towards flooring. After the closure of their family business he and his wife moved back to Bogalusa to care for his aging parents.

He enjoyed making people laugh- especially through sharing life experiences, riding dirt bikes, and reminiscing about his trucking youth. He was an animal lover and always had several dogs at any given time. Later in life he enjoyed the company of many cows, sheep, and his wife's cats that he often pretended to dislike.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Byrd, his father William E. "Sonny" Byrd, and his mother Bobbie Boyd Byrd. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Karen Lynn Byrd, his daughter Melissa Ann Boling (Nathan), his son William Clayton Byrd (Amber), and grandchildren Bentley Boling, Apollo Schwartz, and Kyelus Boling.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana on Thursday, October 9th, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Jimmy Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in McGeehee Cemetery.

A visitation will be held Thursday morning at the funeral home from 10 A.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.
