Mr. Vernon Dolphus "Jack" Seal, passed away on July 14th, 2021 at the age of 83. A native of Angie, La. and a resident of Covington, La. for 32 years. Mr. Seal was the husband to his loving wife Barbara Jenkins Seal for 52 years and the father of William Charles Seal, Gwen Jenice (Marshall) Smith, Amanda Pleseatte (Sidney) Jenkins, Jessica Tase (Robbie) Giglio and Verna Talia (Russell) Taylor; grandfather of Darren Turner, Jacob Seal and AnnaBeth (Charlie) Yancey, Richard Neil (Jalanya) Smith, Chole' Smith (Austin) Powers, Cody Sid Jenkins, Robert Jessup Giglio and Avah Giglio, Jodi Taylor, Austin Taylor and Kolden Taylor; great-grandfather of soon to be Bryce Waylon Smith; brother of Lloyd Ray, Wilson and Milton Seal, Juanita Seal Stringer; honorary brother Woody Camus. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Vernon was looking forward to meeting his first great grandchild Bryce Waylon Smith.
Mr. Seal was preceded in death by his parents William Talamage and Pollie Olivia Seal as well as his brothers Alvin, Earl, James and Norman Seal.
Mr. Seal served his country in the National Guard, Army Reserve and Military Police. He had a lifetime love for gardening and was featured in Louisiana Gardener. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and his dog Woody.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the vistation and funeral services at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. until time for the services at 2:00 P.M. Interment to follow at First Baptist Church of Henleyfield Cemetery. Bro. Jathan Maricelli will officiate the services.
A special thank you to the nurses and staff of Heart of Hospice. In lieu of flowers the family ask that a donation be made to the First Baptist Church of Henleyfield Cemetery Fund.
