Sheila A. Edwards Miley, 79 years old, passed away peacefully on the evening of September 6, 2026, after being surrounded by her loving family at her home. Sheila was a faithful member of Ben’s Ford Baptist Church and previously a faithful member of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church. Her testimony was evident in her life, as she was a devout, faithful Christian. She is now rejoicing in Heaven!

Sheila was born on August 1, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the beloved wife of Clinton A. Miley Sr and had been with him for 63 years. They met at a Plainview Baptist Church peanut boil and later courted for two years, were engaged for two years, and were together in an exemplary, faithful marriage for almost 59 years. Sheila was known for her loving, giving heart and loved her husband and family more than words could express. Her family's closeness and presence brought her great delight and satisfaction. She never ceased to pray for her family and support them in any and every way.

Sheila retired as a clerical supervisor after a long career for the State of Louisiana at the Bogalusa Health Unit. Sheila spent many years of service in the Vacation Bible School ministry, helping in the kitchen at both Ben’s Ford Baptist Church and Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church.

Sheila is survived by her Husband, Clinton A. Miley Sr; her Son, Clinton A. Miley “Jr” (Charmaine); her Daughter, Shelaine “Lanie” McClelland (Chris); her Special Nephews, which she raised as Sons, Jacob “Kyle” Edwards (Ashlyn) and Jonathan “Cole” Edwards; her Sister, Linda Ledbetter (John); Six Grandkids, Olivia Jenkins (Justin), Christopher “CJ” McClelland, Jr (Summer), Alaina Fersch (Kaden), Clinton “Clint” Miley III, Adley and Beckham Edwards; Five Great-Grandkids Phenyx Lewis, Daxtyn Corkern, Malia McClelland, Maddie McClelland, and Baby Fersch; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own.

She is preceded in death by her Father and Mother, Vic and Helen Edwards; 3 sisters, Vickie Edwards, Anna Taylor, and Kim Edwards.

Active Pallbearers: Jacob “Kyle” Edwards, Jonathan “Cole” Edwards, Christopher “CJ” McClelland Jr, Clinton “Clint” Miley III, Wilfred “Trae” Welch III, and John “Vince” Welch.

Honorary Pallbearers: Mark “Conehead” Stewart, Caleb Bell, Dave Thompson, Donald Wells, and Roy Miley.

Visitation will be held at Ben’s Ford Baptist Church in Bogalusa, LA with the wake on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 5pm until 9pm and on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 from 9am until the funeral services beginning at 11:00 am. Rev. Caleb Martin, Rev. Chris McClelland and Rev. Pete Underwood will be officiating. Interment immediately following at Poole-Pounds Cemetery in Bogalusa, LA.
