“Bob” Jones Jr.

Bob was the son of the late Judge and Mrs. Robert D. "Bob" Jones Sr. of Bogalusa.
Bob attended Riverside Military Academy and graduated in 1956. He moved to Baton Rouge to attend LSU, where he graduated. He remained active in alumni affairs at Riverside. He made his residence in Baton Rouge for some 40 years before his retirement and returned to his native Bogalusa. He was a sales and marketing executive. He was a lifelong Methodist and longtime active member of First United Methodist church of Baton Rouge; he was an active member of ESM Methodist Church in Bogalusa. In addition to church activities, he was a Methodist Cursillo of 14 members, very active in the Kairos Prison ministry for many years, a 50-year Mason and Shriner. He also loved to fish and hunt as well as help others.
He is survived by 2 sons, Walter G. Jones II, and Robert D. "Bob" Jones III (wife - Donna) both of Baton Rouge, LA; their mother, Bob's former wife Maggie Jones of Baton Rouge, LA; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a sister Jo Dorsey Jones Stupka of Fairhope, AL.
Bob trusted and had complete faith in his cardiologist Dr. Jeffrey Hyde; he meant a lot to Bob. A special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff of Our Lady of The Lake in Baton Rouge, Pinnacle Hospice of Baton Rouge and The Crossing Clarity House Hospice facility for all the care and support they gave Bob and his family.
Bob's request is for donations be made to the Methodist Children's Home in Mandeville or Ruston.
