Peggy Joyce Lee Jones Crain

November 18, 1937 – July 28, 2026

Peggy Joyce Lee Jones Crain, passed away peacefully at her home in Bogalusa on July 28, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on November 18, 1937, in Bogalusa, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Beatrice Brewer Lee and Lonnie Lonzo Lee.

Raised in Bogalusa, she attended Bogalusa City Schools and graduated from Bogalusa High School in 1955, After marriage, she moved to Colorado Springs, CO and then to Lake Charles, LA where she worked in telecommunications eventually returning to Bogalusa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Ginger Leigh Jones; husband, Herman Leroy Jones, two brothers, Jerry “Preacher” Lee (Elizabeth) and Lonnie Keith Lee; grandson, Douglas Dakota “Cody” Jones; and her very special friend Mervin E Taylor.

She is survived by her son; Douglas “Doug” L. Jones (Bridgette); and brother Rodney Wayne Lee (Bert).

Peggy had many interest throughout her life. Later in life she enjoyed cards, luncheon with friends including those dating back to grade school, as well as playing online games and Facebook.

Funeral arrangements are being made by Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 31, at 10: 30 AM at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church in Bogalusa. Lunch and fellowship will follow in the Mt Pleasant Baptist Church Fellowship Hall immediately after the service. Friends that do not feel comfortable walking down to the cemetery are encouraged to come directly to the church fellowship hall. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mt Pleasant Baptist Church, or any church of choice.
