Nell Rose Caves was born in Brookhaven, MS on May 15, 1958, she passed away at her residence in Bogalusa, LA on June 16, 2026, at the age of 68.

Nell is survived by her children Larry (Kirstin) Thames, Chris (Jennifer) Thames, Crystal Jenkins, and Stephanie Thames; siblings Charles (Helen) Caves, Rachel Hyatt, and Shirley (Jerry) Stevens; grandchildren Kayla (Kelsey) Smith, Tiffany (Devin) Owens, Charlie (Katelynn) Owens, Destiny McNeese, Chambrae Thames, Wyatt Thames, Everett Thames, Monroe Thames, Grace Thames and Tara Ray Nicole Thames; five great grandchildren; sister-in-law Theresa Cooper; two brothers-in-law; two step children as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and uncles.

Nell was preceded in death by her husband Tommy Louis Caves; her parents James Wilmer Caves and Junnie Agnes Prather; two sons James Michael Smith, and Chad Thames; siblings James Wilmer Caves Jr., Jimmy Alfred Caves, Billy Joe Caves, Linda Sue Caves, Alonzo "Redie" Caves, and David Wayne Caves.

A memorial service will be held at a later time at Oak Grove Pentecostal Church Cemetery at 124 Thames-Nelson Rd, Jayess, MS 39641.

The family would like to thank Modern Home Health and Hospice for the care they provided Nell.  Also, the family would like to thank Sherry Lenior for always being there for Nell, she was more like a sister to her, as well as her longtime friend Lynette Gatlin.
