Mary Rose Breland, age 88, was born on August 15, 1936, in Bogalusa, LA passed
away on February 7, 2025, at Heritage Manor in Slidell, LA. Mary Rose was a
Member of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa. She had a love for cooking and enjoyed
cooking for her family and friends, she had two dogs (Teddy and Duke) that she
adored, but most of all she loved her children, grandchildren, and great-
grandchildren. Mary Rose was a servant, which was exhibited most by her kind,
loving spirit and her drive to help those in need like caring for her residents during
her tenure at the nursing home.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Donald Wayne Breland, her parents
Hilton S. Beard and Betty Talley Beard, a granddaughter Allison Sanders, a son-in-
law Charles Simmons and a brother Brian Beard.

Mary is survived by her son Steve (Pam) Breland of Franklinton, LA; daughters
Debbie Simmons of Mandeville, LA, Cara Sanders of Slidell, LA, Cheryl Breland of
Hattiesburg, MS; sister Robbie (Bobby) Pounds of Bogalusa, LA; grandchildren Adam
Breland, Barrett Breland, Brandon Knight, Coleman Simmons, Alicia Albert, Melissa
Butler, Amanda Stephens, and Lauren Pringle; as well as, 27 great grandchildren.

The visitation will be held on Tuesday February 11, 2025, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral
Home from 10:00 am until the service time of 2:00pm. Interment will follow in
Ponemah Cemetery.
