Mary Anthony Obituary

Mary Anthony, a Bogalusa native, died October 30, 2020 surrounded by her family in Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her father, John Anthony, and her sister, Virginia Anthony Rodriguez. Mary is survived by her mother, Marie Anthony, her sister, Susan (Philip) Anthony Crawford, her niece, Mary Margaret Crawford, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Mary graduated valedictorian from Bogalusa High School in 1965. She then graduated with a Bachelor Science in Psychology from Louisiana State University in 1969. She became a VISTA volunteer and moved to the Denver, Colorado area where she remained for the rest of her life. She later received a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Denver. Mary worked for Adams county child protection for over twenty years. Her life's work was devoted to the well-being of children and their families. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were conducted by Reverend LeBaron Taylor at St. Matthews Episcopal Church on November 13, 2020, followed by interment at Ponemah Cemetery.
