Marjorie Elaine Cooper Walz, 94 years, of St. Simon's Island, Georgia (formerly of Bogalusa, Louisiana) passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025 in Hospice of the Golden Isles.

She was born in Bogalusa, LA on August 14, 1930.

She is survived by two sons, Randall John Walz (Grace Fergeson) of Bogalusa, LA and Mark Fletcher Walz of Houston, TX; a daughter, Cynthia Walz Hatcher (Wade) of St. Simon's Island, GA; a son-in-law, Gabriel Attal of Houston, TX; nine grandchildren, Anne Walz, John Walz, Hunter Walz, Harrison Walz, Dany Attal (Carson Woody), Sophia Attal (fiance Travis Bryant), Roby Attal, Laine Hatcher Thomas (Seth) and Philip Hatcher (fiance Melinda Steele), a great grandchild, Rosemary Kay Attal, and an expected great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Nuttall Walz, two daughters, Elizabeth Anne Walz and Marilyn Kay Walz Attal, her father, Fletcher Cooper, her mother Anna Burris Cooper, a brother, James Cooper, and four sisters, Ruth Hosey, Christine Murdoch, Betty Emmertz, and Sadye Rester.

Funeral services will be held at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home (216 Alabama Avenue, Bogalusa, LA 70427) on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in McGehee Cemetery. Visitation will be thirty minutes prior to the service, Friday at the funeral home.
