Marilyn Wright, age 93, of Bogalusa, Louisiana, passed away on May 15, 2024.

She was born on June 26, 1930, in Ruston, Louisiana to Kenneth F. and Lillian Hewins.

Marilyn was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend. She will be missed dearly, but, there is comfort in knowing she is resting in peace with the Lord, with no burdens and no worry.

Marilyn had a fulfilling career as an Instructor at Sullivan Vo-Tech for 28 years. She was dedicated to her work and touched the lives of many through her teaching.

She graduated from Ruston High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Business from Louisiana Tech University.

Marilyn was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Bogalusa, where she found solace and community.

She is survived by her three children, Cathy (Samuel) Hodges, Craig (Toni) Wright, Louis Wright; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Leary Wright, her parents, Kenneth and Lillian Hewins, and her sister, Eleanor Robinson.

Funeral services will be held at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home (216 Alabama Avenue, Bogalusa, Louisiana, 70427) on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 11:00 am. Rev. Josh Powell will officiate the service. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 9:30 am until services, Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery East (3700 Saint Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71103) on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 11:00 am.

The family would like to thank all the special friends and neighbors that had helped Marilyn over these many years

Her warm spirit and loving nature will be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
