Kevin Monroe Hughes, age 68, of Mandeville, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, May 8th, 2025.

Kevin was born October 7th, 1956 to Leo Hughes and Claudine Rogers Hughes in Bogalusa, LA. Kevin was the youngest of two children, but he grew up part of a large extended family with whom he was very close.  Kevin graduated from Bogalusa High School and then attended the University of New Orleans where he studied communications and participated in the theatre. While living in New Orleans Kevin enjoyed playing as an extra in several films. Kevin was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in New Orleans and later became a Shriner.  His friends and family miss his spontaneous observations and reflections on wide-ranging subjects.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo Hughes and Claudine Hughes.

He is survived by his daughter Manuela Penton (Chad); grandchildren Hugh Penton and Sophia Penton; brother Keith Hughes; and ex-wife Anna Hughes.

A visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, May 17th, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 am with a memorial service following.
