Beloved father, grandfather, and uncle, John Dennis "Denny" Sumrall of Bogalusa passed away on May 6, 2021 in New Orleans, LA.  Born in Bogalusa on December 15, 1952 to the late B.L. and Sue Sumrall. Mr. Sumrall was a Member and Deacon of First Presbyterian Church in Bogalusa.  Mr. Sumrall served his country in the United States Army.

Mr. John Dennis Sumrall is survived by his son Christopher (Amy) Sumrall; three grandchildren, Asia (Kenneth) Swartz; Alena (John Shubert) Sumrall; Kyra Sumrall; and one soon to be great grandchild, Adelaide Swartz. Also, his nieces and nephews Antionette Catha; Nikki Hobgood Joyce; Harold Catha, Jr.; Jeff Bickham; Troy Culbertson; Ben Culbertson; Nick Culbertson.

Mr. Sumrall was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin Levi "B.L." Sumrall and Mrs. Susan "Sue" Batton Sumrall.  Also, his three sisters Rebecca Sumrall Veret; Sylvia Sumrall Fortenberry; Roselyn Sumrall Culbertson.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa, on Monday, May 10, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until the services at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Darryl Fortenberry and Rev. Harold Gaddy will officiate the service and interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.  Military graveside rites will be performed by the American Legion Magic City Post #24
