Joan Starnes, 78, was a long-time resident of Pine community, went to be with our Lord and Savior on December 28, 2021. She was born on January 30, 1943, to George and Essie Starnes.

Joan is survived:  by her two daughters: Joan Marie (Jonny) Solomons of Miami FL and Melissa Carroll of Pine. Three sons: Scott (Christine) Gill of Sault St. Marie, MI, Rhody Williams of Pine, Glynn (Amanda) Williams of Milton, FL, Her sister: Mabel (Stanley) Chaney of Franklinton, LA, and brothers William (Barbara) Starnes of Franklinton, LA; and Lark Starnes of Isabel, LA.

Joan is predeceased by her parents-George and Essie Starnes, her two sons: Yancy Gill and Vincent Gill, her ex-husbands: Ray Stanley Williams of 33 years and John W. Gill of 5 years, her sisters: Mevalee (Red) Taylor, Mary (Carl) Luper, Deanie (Dwight) Stockstill, Nell (Howard) Bates, her twin sister: Jean (Virgil) Fairburn, her brother: James (Betty) Starnes.

Joan was a loving Mother of (7) Grandmother of (20) Great-Grandmother (24) Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Friend to many. Her favorite things to do often was to dine out, try her hand at the Casino's and visit with family. Joan was a "one of a kind" person. She was an avid flower gardener and enjoyed caring for her plants and animals. She was so loved and will be dearly missed by many.

Special and immense gratitude to her granddaughters: Constance Jones, Candis Navarro and Katrina Gill, her son Rhody Williams and Campassus Hospice who cared for her at the end of her life. Services have been rescheduled to Wednesday, January 5, 2022, with visitation starting at 10:00 am and remaining open until the funeral service at 2:00 pm.
