Obituary

James (Jimbo) Lundy Stokes, a native of Greenwood, MS., and a longtime resident of Bogalusa, LA., passed away at his home on August 21, 2026, following a lengthy illness.

Jimbo is survived by his wife, Vicki Robichaux Stokes, two daughters: Angela Stokes Roehl (Eric) of Raliegh, North Carolina. and Blair Stokes Blanks (Tom) of Baltimore, Maryland, five grandchildren: Emily Roehl, Olivia Roehl, Graham Blanks, Maren Blanks and Campbell Blanks.

He is also survived by a brother, John D. (Debbie) Stokes of Murrayville, Georgia; a sister, Anne (William) Stokes of Estill Springs, Tennessee; and a brother-in-law, Allan Joe Robichaux (Kathleen) of Dolores, Colorado.

Jimbo was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Bonita Stokes of Greenwood, MS., and grandson, James Hudson Blanks and his Mother-in-law and Father-in Law, Emily and C. J. Robichaux of Bogalusa, LA.

A graduate of USM, Jimbo was an engineer who was employed in several capacities throughout his career with Cooper Industries, retiring as Plant Manager in Greenville, MS.

A master woodworker, Jimbo spent many years restoring old houses and antique furniture. After his retirement from industry, Jimbo and Vicki were the owners of Boxwood Hall and Antiques in Greenville, MS., where he designed and built bench-made antique reproductions and restored antiques.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Jimbo will be missed by all whose lives he touched. A celebration of Jimbo’s life will be held at a later date.
