Mr. James Leslie Spears a native of Tylertown, MS and a longtime resident of Bogalusa, LA passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at the age of 79.  Mr. James was a former firefighter for The City of Bogalusa and a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Mr. James is survived by his children, James Leslie Spears II of Bogalusa, LA and Candace Spears Stewart of Bogalusa, LA; and four granddaughters, Cassidy (Caleb) ST. Pierre, Isabella Spears, Sophia Spears, and Addyson Stewart.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mr. James was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Graham Spears; his parents, Leslie and Carrie Mae Spears; his sister, Maudine Pepe; and his brother, Ronald Spears.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. until time for the services at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Clay Norwood officiating the services.  Interment to follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens.  Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Magic City Post #24.
