James Wilson Ramser, I, 79, of Bogalusa, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024 surrounded by his family.

Mr. Ramser was born July 26, 1945 in Bogalusa. He was a retired crane operator and a veteran of the United States Navy.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Perry Ramser, Sr., and Wanzie McMillan Ramser; one son; James Wilson Ramser, II; two siblings, William Perry Ramser, Jr., Elizabeth Gwin Ramser; and one granddaughter, Megan Nicole Crawford.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Brie (Brian) Ramser ,Russell (Deana) Ramser, Patri (Patrick) Talley; one sister, Wanzie Gail Scholfield; grandchildren, Natalie Bergeron, Tyler Bergeron, Maykayla Ramser, Dawson McNeese,  Areanna Ramser, Dustin (Candice) Crawford, Logan (Emmaleigh Anderson) Talley, Bailey (Cara Scott) Talley, Peyton (Sara Shepardson) Talley, Amber (Treat) Magee, Paige Ramser, Kaylon Ramser; great grandchildren, Maliah Washington, Jaxon Bergeron, Lauren Crawford, Brooklyn Crawford, Warren Crawford, Riley Talley, Branson Talley, Hayden Magee, Kinsley Magee, Harper Kelson.

Funeral services will be held at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home (216 Alabama Avenue, Bogalusa, LA, 70427) on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Ponemah Cemetery with military honors given by the American Legion, Magic City Post 24. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Thursday at the funeral home.
