James Everett King, native of Bogalusa, LA and Lifelong resident of Sun, LA passed away at the age of 87 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, LA on Friday evening. He as Owner/Operator of several businesses including: Danny's Fried Chicken in Franklinton, Kristy's Fried Chicken in Bogalusa, Covington, and Mandeville, Chicken King in Bogalusa, 2 King Building Supply in Bogalusa, and Dirt Pits in Bogalusa. He was an avid Cattle Farmer and loved his cattle.

Survivors include his favorite ex-wife, Annie King of Pineville, LA; son, Jeffery Catalano of Denham Springs, LA; daughter, Pauline Catalano of Baton Rouge, LA; nephew, Emery "Dale" King of Covington, LA; 5 nieces, Diane King-Plummer of Covington, LA, Darlene Kennedy of Bogalusa, LA, Michelle Brack of Lutcher, LA, Chanda Gill of Lutcher, LA, and Carol Crain of Bogalusa, LA. Also survived by numerous great nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Inez King; brothers, Emery Lavern King, Charles Edward King; sister, Laveeda Crain; nephew, D.L. Crain.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be private.

A visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday 12 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.
