James "Jamie" A. Pierce a resident of Sun, LA, passed away Wednesday April 5, 2023, at the age of 64.  Jamie was born July 4, 1958, to Walter Lee and Maxine Rester Pierce of Bogalusa.  He was a 1976 graduate of Bogalusa High School. Jamie loved to haul gravel and dirt and loved being outdoors.  He loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.  He loved to talk and made a lot of friends.  His favorite saying was "is that a rabbit over there". Jamie touched a lot of people's lives in his lifetime.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Peggy Pierce, two daughters Kerrie (Gary) of Bogalusa and Kristi (Daniel) of Bogalusa and one son Jessie (Paige) of Sun, LA; and three grandchildren Cypress, Destiny, and Magnolia who he loved dearly and who he did everything for.  He is also survived by one sister, and two brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Jamie was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lee and Maxine Rester Pierce, two brothers, and one niece.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 1:00p.m. at Pierce Cemetery off Hwy 21 in Sun, LA.  Rev. Fred Brumfield will officiate the service.
