Jackie "Jack" Lloyd McAlister passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 19, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Jack proudly served his country, in the United States Army as a Combat Engineer for four years. He received many honors to include, Good conduct medal, Overseas service ribbon, Rifle M-16 (sharpshooter) and Hand Grenade (expert).

Jack loved cooking, Nascar and spending time with his family, especially nieces and nephews. He always went out of his way to help anyone in need and was known for his kind heart.

He is survived by four sisters, Faye Warner, Patricia McAlister, Jane McAlister and Dorothy Mitchell; eight nieces, Krystal Warner, Rebecca Warner, Tonya Morris, Anita Bush, Margaret Travis, Dorothy Streoker, Barbara Melvin, and Lynda Andrews; three nephews, Chris McAlister, Roy Walker and Mitchell Farkas; five Great Nieces and Nephews, Wyatt Warner, Blayne Walker, Cheyanne Morris, Destiny McAlister and Alexis Walker; Special Extended Family, Sidney A Warner Jr., Conni Warner, Suzanne Melara, Gussi and Marie Warner, Riley Warner, Ashton Warner, Corbin Warner, Cecilia Light and Brittany Warner.

Proceeded in death by his parents, Doris Stewart and Lloyd McAlister; Grandparents, Pete and Annie McAlister, Randolph and Thelma Norred; Brother, Johnny Farkas and two nephews, Daniel and Joseph Mitchell.

Family and friends are invited to attend Jack's funeral services on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, for 2:00 pm at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home, 216 Alabama Ave., Bogalusa, LA., with Rev. Marcus Rosa officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am.  Interment to follow with military honors at Hillview Memorial Gardens, by American Legion Post #24.
