Jack Arnold Head, a devout and humble servant of the Lord, aged 84, was called to his eternal home on April 29, 2024, in Poplarville, MS. Born to Jim and Elva Head on December 27, 1939, in the same town, Jack lived a life marked by steadfast faith and unwavering commitment to his community and country.
With nine years of honorable service in the Army, Jack exemplified the virtues of discipline and respect for all of creation. His dedication to duty was a testament to his character, mirroring the patience and kindness that he carried into all aspects of his life.
Upon his return to civilian life, Jack continued to serve his community through his work with the United States Postal Services from 1973-1995. His honest labor was not just a job but a continuation of his service to his country and neighbors.
Jack was a cherished member of Oak Hill Pentecostal Church, where he offered his voice in song and his hands in fellowship. He lived his faith through acts of love, exemplifying the grace and goodness of the teachings he held dear.
He was a loving beacon of light to his family, providing guidance and nurturing love to his wife, Hilda Mitchell Head, his sister, Glenda Smith (James), and his children: Larry Head (Rhonda), Gary Head (Debbie), Karen Owens (Timothy), Dennis Head (Reynada), and Beverly Bilbo (Rick). Jack's legacy continues through his grandchildren Jared Head, Deanna Owens Jones (Angela), Zackary Head (Haley), Kalyn Pullens (Nolan), Morgan Smith (Adam), Garrett Owens (Julie), Brooklyn Borgesen (Michael), Shawn Bergeron, Mallory Head (Tyler), Dylan Dunaway (Emma), Macey Head, Jolie Amelia, Jaxon Dunaway, Jenna Head, Austin Miller, Karson Head, Jasper Head, Silas Head, Kyler Head, and a host of great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James (Jim) and Elva Head, and siblings, James Head, Flora Jean Steele, Geraldine Odom, Clydie Alexander, and Patsy Pullen.
The family will receive friends and loved ones for visitation at 2:00 pm, with a service to follow at 2:30 pm on May 5, 2024, at Oak Hill Pentecostal Church. The Poole Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa, LA, is entrusted with the arrangements.
