Gerlinde Taylor, a resident of Bogalusa, LA passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the age of 70.  Gerlinde had a heart of gold and loved helping others.  She enjoyed assembling Braille books for the blind.  She also loved to play softball in her younger years.  Gerlinde was also the secretary at Zion Lutheran Church.

Gerlinde is survived by her son, Robert (Lynn) Wheat; five grandchildren, Mason, Miranda, Celena, Bryson, and Peyton Wheat; one sister, Hilde (Wayne) Bush; and three brothers, Ulrich (Amy) Speer, Bernie (Lore) Speer, and Werner (Barbara) Speer.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Gerlinde was preceded in death by her parents, Wilhelm and Gerda Speer; a brother, Gerd Speer; and a sister, Waldtradt "Trudy" Fontenot Brekeen.

A memorial service will be held at later date with Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in charge of the services.
