Gay Nell Stuart a native of Bogalusa, LA and resident of Slidell, LA passed away Monday, May 23, 2022, in Slidell, LA at the age of 80.

Mrs. Gay Nell is survived by her children, Kenneth (Angie) Stuart of Hattiesburg, MS, Terry (Charlene) Stuart of Slidell, LA, and Stacey (Robert) Chaudron of Mobile, AL; her four grandchildren, Bayley Chaudron of Mobile, AL, Kenna Stuart of Hattiesburg, MS, Corey (Lauren) Basile of Gulf breeze, FL, and Drew Basile of Slidell, LA; and two great grandchildren, Roen Basile of Gulf breeze, FL and Luca Basile of Gulf breeze, FL.  She is also survived by her siblings, Herbert Distefano of San Antonio, TX, Linda Stogner of Covington, LA, and Bobbie Burgess of Mangham, LA.

Mrs. Gay Nell was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Cole Distefano and Lillie Belle Distefano; her husband, Harold Stuart; a brother, Mickey Distefano; and a sister, Pat Stogner.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 29, 2022, from 11:00 A.M. until time for the services at 2:00 P.M. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home.  Interment to follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens.

The family request in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to First Baptist Church Building Fund.
