Evelyn Bedwell Corkern

February 24, 1941 – December 21, 2024

Evelyn Bedwell Corkern a lifelong resident of Washington Parish, LA passed away at East Jefferson Parish Hospital in Metairie, LA on Saturday morning at the age of 83. She was a retired nurse of over 40 years in Bogalusa, LA.

She is survived by her 6 children, Janice P. Magee of Bogalusa, Lyndon Magee of Enon, LA, Fred (Susan) Magee of Walker, LA, Bobby (Susan) Magee of Denham Springs, LA, Tim (Robyn) Magee of Prairieville, LA, and Jo Anne (Burton) Rice of Bossier City, LA; brothers and sisters, Doyelas, Gillas Faye, Thomas, Ramona, and Phillip. Also survived by her 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 15 nieces and nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Corkern; parents, Frank and Erline Bedwell; 3 brothers, William, Oscar, and Otis Bedwell.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Scott Breland officiating. Interment to follow in the Isabel Baptist Church Cemetery in the Isabel Community.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 1:00 P.M.
