Mrs. Doris Corkern Stewart a resident of Bogalusa, LA passed away on July 15, 2021 at the age of 92.  Mrs. Stewart was a member of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church, she worked over 50 years for the Election Commission and she loved to sew, quilt, and tend to her garden.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by her children Horace A. Stewart, Richard L. Stewart, Darryl Stewart, Charles M. Stewart, Maita S. Knight, Karen A. O'Berry, Lori A. Morris, and Melissa S. Cooper.  Also survived by her 16 grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren.

Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her husband Waldo Stewart, her parents Levi Jasper Corkern and Ollie Fairburn Corkern; and her siblings Horace E. Corkern, Murphy Corkern, Lola Corkern, Marjorie Corkern.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 18, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and again from 9:00 A.M. until time for the services at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home.  Interment to follow at Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.  Bro. Pete Underwood will officiate the services.
