Donald Ray Davis, Sr.

"The Generous Man"

Donald Ray Davis, Sr., affectionately known as "Slim," was born on April 2, 1963, in Bogalusa, Louisiana, and passed away on December 15, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Donald was a devoted husband to Teresa Davis, in which they shared 42 years of life together through marriage. He was a loving and dedicated father to his sons: Donald Davis Jr. (Jennifer) of Noxapater, Mississippi; Leslie Davis of Pine, Louisiana; and Hayden Davis (Jaida) of Pine, Louisiana. He was also a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather, as well as a beloved uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom brought him great pride and joy.

He is survived by his brothers, Albert Davis and Joe Davis (Robin) of Bogalusa, Louisiana, and his sisters, Marketta Burdette (Jimmy) of Bogalusa, Louisiana, and Nan Herrington (Paul) of Pine, Louisiana.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lela Davis; his sister, Sue Spears; his brother, Eddie Davis; and his son, Earon Davis.

Donald will be remembered for his generosity, his unwavering love for family, and the lasting impression he made on all who knew him through his kindness and selflessness.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., with funeral services to follow. Interment will take place at Lon Miley Memorial Cemetery. Military graveside honors will be performed by the American Legion, Magic City Post #24.
