Donald Chris Mitchell, a lifelong resident of Bogalusa, LA, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at the age of 53. He was born on May 27, 1968, to Donald "Danny" and Leatrice Mitchell in Bogalusa, LA.

Chris was part of the Bogalusa High School graduating class of 1987. He loved to play many sports like football, basketball and baseball. He also loved the outdoors where he would hunt and go fishing.

Chris is survived by his mother and father Leatrice and Danny Mitchell; one sister Alicia Mitchell; his son Christopher Cody (Tiffany) Mitchell; one niece Jordan Mitchell; three grandchildren Baylee, Cade and Liam Mitchell; and one grandnephew Braden Culpepper.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Talmage and Mable Corkern, and Donald and Elizabeth Mitchell.

Pallbearers are Doug Jones, Michael Culpepper, Allen Adcox, Michael Jones, Matthew Penny, and Mark Penny.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa, LA from 9:00 A.M. until time for the services at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Larry Mizell officiating.  Interment to follow at Kennedy Cemetery in Crossroads, MS.
