Denise Tisdale, 87, of Bogalusa, LA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, on Friday, May 20, 2022. She was a past member of The Young Married Sunday School Class, First Baptist Church member and extraordinary pianist and excellent seamstress. Denise was a member of Roogaroo and GG Carnival Group. She loved to travel all over the world.

She is preceded in death by her parents, E. Lavon Burruss and P Aline Crain Burruss and one brother-in-law, Ben Hurd.

Denise leaves to cherish her memories to her husband, Dr. Walter Tisdale; one son, Barry Tisdale (Janet); one daughter, Terri Dawes (David); one sister Bettye Hurd; four grandchildren, Amanda McDonald (Stephen), Andrew Tisdale (Emily), Dana Dawes Blanchard (Mark) and Zach Dawes (fiancé' Andrea Gallo); two great-grandchildren, Nicholas McDonald and Lena Blanchard; one nephew, Trevor Hurd (Kerri); one niece, Heather Hurd and two great-nieces, Riley and Finley Hurd.

Family and friends are invited to attend Denise's funeral service on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 1:00 pm, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home, 216 Alabama Ave, Bogalusa, LA.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 am.  Burial will follow in Ponemah Cemetery.  Rev. Bob Adams and Rev. Stephen McDonald will officiate the services.
