David Michael Corkern

June 29, 1945 – September 17, 2026

David Michael Corkern, age 81, is now soaring with angels. He met his sweet Lord and Savior on September 17, 2026.

Michael was a lifetime, well-known resident of Franklinton. He was a talented barber for over sixty years. He could often be seen around town on his Harley. Michael loved riding through the mountains and enjoying nature, he particularly loved these trips accompanied with his brother-in-law Bob and his wife, Debbie. Michael’s sincere love of Christ was well-known throughout his community and his beloved Bethel Baptist Church.

Michael is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 28 years, Debbie Lott Corkern; his children Misty Corkern, Mike (Bonnie) Corkern II, Dusty (Alyssa) Thomas; grandchildren Natalie and Jeffery Corkern, Lexon and Laiken Thomas; nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Michael requested no formal services. There will be a private, family gathering to bury his cremains in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church.
