Daniel Manuel Rodriguez, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away on February 4, 2021, from complications of COVID. He was born in Wichita, Kansas and was raised in Jefferson Parish. Big Dan, as he was known, served in the United States Navy form 1972 – 1975. He married his loving wife, Mary Keaton Rodriguez on January 27, 1978. Big Dan was employed by Delchamps Distributing for many years. He later worked and retired from Schlumberger in Hammond, LA.

Danny was preceded in the death by his parents, Daniel and Shirley Rodriguez of New Orleans, LA and his father and mother-in-law, Harold Leroy and Emma Katherine Keaton.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Keaton Rodriguez; his brothers, Louis, Edward, and Jerome Rodriguez; his sisters, Karen Weaver and Lisa Visser; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loving dog companions, Lady, Gumbo, Filé.

Services will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home & Crematory in Bogalusa, LA on Saturday, February 13, 2021. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and continue until memorial service begins at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Eric Seal will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Washington Humane Society, Magnolia Chapter.
