Daniel "Danny" Patrick Thompson, age 52, gained his wings on Friday, February 3, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.  Danny was raised hunting and fishing which he loved.  His recent hobby and pastime were playing pool with his friends on their team, 8 Ball Mafia, where he was captain of the team.

Danny is survived by his father, Lavelle Thompson of Walker Bluff, MS; his mother and stepfather, Virginia Bateman Dixon and Ron Dixon of the Enon community; a brother, Gary (Melissa) Thompson of Lafayette, LA; one nephew, Baylor (Molly) Thompson of Lafayette, LA; two nieces, Hailey and Maddie Thompson both of Lafayette, LA; a grand nephew, Nash Fletcher; and two grand nieces, Brinlee Fletcher and Lola Kate Thompson all of Lafayette, LA; an uncle, Larry (Taryn) Thompson of Bogalusa, LA and numerous cousins.  He is also survived by his two longtime friends, Bobby Berthelot and Tonya Wallace.

Danny was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Curt and Emma Laura Thompson; maternal grandparents, Dan and Jessie Bateman; and his two uncles, Jimmy Thompson and Robert Bateman.

Danny will sadly be missed by his loved ones and friends.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.  and continue on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, from 9:00 A.M. until time for the services at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Bobby Smith officiating the services.  Interment to follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
