Charles Allen Meuth Pettiette, 72, of Bogalusa, Louisiana, went to be Home with the Lord on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 in St. Tammany Parish Hospital, Covington.
Mr. Pettiette was born January 4, 1952 in Beeville, Texas. He was a retired painting and sandblasting contractor. He was the former owner of Reliable Sandblasting Services and Diamond Painting Service in Bogalusa. He was a member of Lee's Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, dominoes, and chess. He especially enjoyed dancing with his beloved Maureen. He will be remembered as gentleman's gentleman. Charlie will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Family members include his beloved wife of 32 years, Maureen O'Leary Pettiette; his two children, Luke Wade Pettiette (Amanda), Benjamin Chase Pettiette (Ashley); one brother, Larry Wade Pettiette; one sister, Rita Maddox (Dennis); six grandchildren, Brooks Pettiette, Lola Pettiette, Lily Pettiette, Charles Pettiette, Nathan Pettiette, Matthew Pettiette; two brothers-in-law, Larry O'Leary (Karen), Jimmy O'Leary (Marilyn); one sister-in-law, Carol Nickerson (John); a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack D. Pettiette and Maudine Atkinson Meuth Pettiette Bradfute; two brothers, Jack David Pettiette, Jerry Louis Meuth; and one sister-in-law, Melba Pettiette.
Funeral services will be held at Lee's Creek Baptist Church (1803 Lee's Creek Road, Bogalusa, LA, 70427) on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The visitation will from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Friday evening at the church. Visitation will resume on Saturday morning from 9:00 am until services.
Pallbearers will be Benjamin Pettiette, Mike Cramer, Brandon Sieger, Jason Smith, Tommy Varnado, and Wade Pettiette.
Honorary pallbearer will be Larry O'Leary.
Charlie will be remembered as a loving soul that adored his family. The world is a better place because he lived. May he rest in peace.
