Carolyn V. Nations, 89, of Bogalusa, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at her residence, surrounded by family.

Carolyn was a longtime sales associate with JC Penney in Bogalusa and a long term, dedicated member of Superior Avenue Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lockwood and Edna O'Neal Marler; and one son, Michael Carroll Nations.

Family members include her husband of 71 years James W. Nations, whom she married on July 25, 1953; children, Larry Nations of Bogalusa, LA, Dana (Liz) Nations of Tylertown, MS, Celia (Jack) Jones of Yukon, OK, Valerie (Matt) Plonski of Morrisville, NC; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home (216 Alabama Avenue, Bogalusa, LA 70427) on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Clay Norwood will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Ponemah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until services, Thursday at the funeral home.
