Carol Sue Slocum Carrier, 71, passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2026, in Franklinton, La, surrounded by the love of her life and family to be with her Heavenly Father. Carol was born on July 6, 1954, to the late Lamar and Mildred Slocum in Bogalusa, LA
Carol, also known as "Nana", known for her quick wit and making dressing for Thanksgiving. Nana cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, instilling in each of them the importance of family. She was a friend to all who knew her. Nana's family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought others in life, and not the sadness of her passing. She will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
Carol was a devoted wife of Lavon Carrier; and mother to Bridgett (Mark) Dyess, LeighAnna (Scott) Willard, and Nicholas (Ashley) Carrier; she is survived by two sisters, Cathy (Charles) Burks, and Rhonda Talley; one brother, Douglas Slocum. Carol is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Madelyn Cotton, Peyton (Kenzie) Dyess, Brantley Dyess, Cadence Dyess, Tripp Willard, Hannah (Jacob) Tidwell, Holly Carrier, Raven (Beau) Deleon, Abbigail Carrier, Ryan Carrier and Kallan Carrier; nine great-grandchildren, Avery Miller, Benjamin Cotton, Hinnley Tidwell, Kori Tidwell, Riley Deleon, Leo Davis, Hazel Davis, Lilah Carrier and Pheobe Carrier.
Carol is preceded in death by her daughter, Crystal Carrier Bordelon; great-granddaughter, Violet Carrier; her parents, Lamar and Mildred Slocum; sisters Rebecca Slocum and Lisa Slocum; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Myrle and Beatrice Carrier; sisters-in-law, Ouida Harris, Ann Kenny, Beverly Little, and Paula Jo Mitchell; brothers-in-law, Samuel Harris, David Kenny, and Milton Earl Carrier.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church, 57500 Knapp Thomas Road, Bogalusa, LA 70427, with a visitation from 12:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. Bro. Justin Wright will preside over the service, which will be held at the church at 2:00 P.M.
