Bobby Lavell Overstreet, age 87, a resident of Varnado, LA passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.  He was born on February 15, 1939, in Hickory, MS.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Versie Lou Overstreet of Varnado, LA, his parents Robert and Ora Lea Overstreet and sister Linda Galatas.

He is survived by two daughters, Brenda (Alan) Williams of Angie, LA, Glenda (Dwane) Brumfield of Baton Rouge, LA, four grandchildren, Dustin (Cara) Brumfield of Las Vegas, NV, Ashley (Matt) Milton of Angie, LA, Amanda (Shane) Preble of Gulf Breeze, FL, Alana Wise of Franklinton, LA, five great-grandchildren, Easton Milton of Angie, LA, Kingsley Wise of Franklinton, LA, Austin Preble of Gulf Breeze, FL, Charlotte Brumfield of Las Vegas, NV, and Donovan Brumfield of Las Vegas, NV.

Bobby served as the store manager at the Piggly Wiggly grocery store in Bogalusa, LA, and as a security guard at the Bogalusa Paper Mill.  The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of Our Lady of the Angels, Community Care Hospice, and his faithful sitters.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. with short service following officiated by Randy Seal. Interment will follow at Seal Cemetery in Varnado, LA.
