Mrs. Betty Lewis a resident of San Juan, TX went to be with her Lord on August 9, 2021.  At the time of her death, she was living with her daughter Robin Shields.

Mrs. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charles D. Lewis.  Rev. Lewis pastored several churches in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida.  He and Mrs. Lewis also served as missionaries in remote villages of Mexico for 15 years.  She was also preceded in death by her parents Iddo Jordan Crain and Vera Lucinda Corkern Crain.  Mrs. Betty will be remembered in this area as a piano teacher for 40 years.  She also taught the Berea Bible Class for 26 years.

Mrs. Betty is survived by her three children Dane (Shirley) Lewis of Bogalusa, LA; Bonnie Lewis of Franklinton, LA; and Robin (Rick) Shields of Coahuila, Mexico; her six grandchildren Lesley Galloway, Andrew Shields, Rebecca Herrera, Matthew Shields, Ethan Shields, and John Nastasi, Jr.  and also, her 27 great grandchildren, and special friends Raymond and Nancy Lozano of Fort Worth, Tx.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Ponemah Cemetery with Rev. Rick Shields officiating.  Pallbearers for Mrs. Betty will be Matthew Shields, Ethan Shields, Nate Herrera, and Thomas Herrera.
